Helping families plan and fund their college education in and around Las Vegas.

Who We Work With...

Are you the parent of an above average student (3.2 GPA or better) who wants a great college education for your son or daughter but worries about the astronomical costs involved?

Maybe you’ve got a great kid that’s talented – academically, athletically, artistically - and you’re hoping there is a scholarship with their name on it… but you don’t have the faintest idea how to go about capturing those dollars!

Have you wondered how on earth you’re going to maintain your current lifestyle, continue to save for your own retirement, and find $20,000 or $30,000 or $40,000 a year to pay for college?

College Funding Coaches relieves the stress, confusion, complexity and cost associated with your student going to the right school for the right price.

Our clients want to provide the best education possible for their students, but they don’t want to take on mind-numbing student-loan debt, delay their own retirement, or settle for a lesser school due to the cost of attendance.

For a family to hire us, they need to be goal-oriented and willing to work as a team. Both parents and students have important roles to play in the process of significantly discounting the cost of college. Everybody will have some “homework” and will be held accountable for completing their part of the plan. College Funding Coaches will be with you every step of the way, guiding you, motivating you, and making sure you’re focused on those activities that will deliver the right school at an affordable price.

Our clients are comfortable working with experts. Our clients don’t diagnose their own medical conditions, draft their own legal documents or prepare their own tax returns; they value the involvement of a professional in guiding them toward important decisions that impact the overall well-being of their family. That’s not to say we don’t welcome questions or expect people to “hold our feet to the fire”… quite the contrary! We welcome every opportunity to educate parents and students on those things that will positively impact their ability to be admitted to and pay for the college of their choice without exhausting the family bank account. Our role is to present you with innovative strategies, the pros and cons of each, and let you determine what best fits your circumstances.

Have these thoughts ever crossed your mind?

“I’m sure this is being handled by the guidance counselors at the high school.”

High School Guidance Counselors can and should be a fabulous resource in the college-prep class selection, identifying attractive scholarships, standardized test prep, college selection and the college admissions process. We consider them an invaluable member of our “coaching staff”; nonetheless, they are typically focused only on the student and are not trained in helping parents position their finances in an advantageous manner.

On-going budget cuts at most school districts have also impacted their ability to adequately serve all the college-bound students at their schools. College Funding Coaches compliments what the counselors do so well and “fill in the gaps” that have been created by today’s education environment.

“We simply make too much money to qualify for any type of financial assistance or program for the cost of college.”

Even Bill Gate’s children can qualify for certain programs provided by Federal and State financial aid programs; the fact is, many families with over $100,000 of taxable income are receiving some form of aid to offset the increased cost of attendance at most colleges and universities. In addition, high net worth families are unknowingly leaving “tax scholarships” on the table every year. Any family sending kids to college owes it to themselves to investigate their options thoroughly.

“Why haven’t I heard of this type of service before? Surely my CPA or financial planner would’ve told me about these strategies.”

There are just over 500 Certified College Planning Specialists (CCPS) in the United States. It is a definite niche in the professional services industry and requires an understanding of the tax code, investment and risk management strategies and vehicles, and the financial aid system administered at the federal, state, and institutional level. CPAs and CFPs simply do not receive this training as part of their initial or on-going education.

  • High standards of excellence – they value the concept of “dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s”, tend to handle their responsibilities in a timely manner, and appreciate having an experienced pro guiding them through this important process.
  • Enjoy finding creative solutions with practical results – our clients love solutions that don’t require 10 page diagrams, reams of footnotes, or endless meetings. But they do appreciate the fact that all of our strategies and techniques have a proven track record and yield a tangible result.
  • Communicators – we want clients that will pick up the phone or shoot off an e-mail whenever they have a question or concern; our job is to deliver “peace of mind” and we can’t do that if people don’t bring issues – big or small - to our attention.
  • Electronically Savvy – a lot of our work is done via e-mail and the internet; both parents and students need to be comfortable with using a computer on a regular basis.
  • Disciplined - are comfortable developing, implementing and sticking to a “game plan”.
